Fellow Students Help Haiti too

They called me in early from recess... and I had no idea why..... WREX News came to my school to find out more about the Hearts for Haiti project.  I found out there are other kids with great fundraising ideas too.

Hearts for Haiti

The country of Haiti has been destroyed by a terrible earthquake.  It will take them years to recover and more money than I could ever imagine.  We don't have a lot of money to give, but we do have a lot of construction paper.  With the help of my mom, we have cut-out hearts that you can use to let the people in your life know how much you love them.

I am looking for places to sell the hearts we have made to help raise money.  I plan to give to give the money to the American Red Cross to give to Haiti to use for the many, many things they are going to need.  If you know of any place I could come to sell my hearts, please email my mom at: akuelling@ymail.com.  Thank you.

Adventures in Reading...

I love to read.  It's takes me to so many places... last year, I read a lot about the Titantic.  Toward the end of 2009, I took an interest in the Bermuda Triangle.  Although, I read about many more things than just those two.  As if reading wasn't fun enough on its own...

I like to add to the adventure like in the photo on the left... I was using a headlamp as my reading light.  I also like to make up cozy little reading corners.

What do you like to do to make reading even more fun than it already is?

Piano Man

My other love is piano.  I'm just learning so, I don't know any really long songs yet.... but, I do know the Star Wars theme and you know, that commercial for Discovery Center that I posted a few posts ago.... the Boom de yada song.... yeah, my teacher taught me that one.... she's awesome.  :)

SMASH IT!

It's easier to smash it, if you have your eye on it.  The ball, that is.  I'm the kid in the middle.  You can't see it, but I was smiling from ear to ear.  I love tennis.  Even laps and push-ups.... they make me stronger and will create an athlete.  Til then, I'm just a kid who loves tennis.  Right now, I just play on Saturdays, but I want to play every day.  Anyone interested???

StoryPeople....

Today a post from Tanner's mom.

Tanner has been at his dad's for almost a week.  That doesn't explain why we haven't posted since the 16th... but, then again maybe it does... We've been sneaking in all kinds of Christmas fun. I miss him ALOT!

I never wanted my child to have his parents in two different places.  It's simply not the way it's suppose to be.  It certainly does happen, but I wish it didn't have to.... I wish it for all sorts of reasons..... I wish children didn't have to have parents serving our country so far away from home, I wish parents didn't pass away, I certainly wish parents would take their role more seriously and love eachother enough to stay together but, wishes don't always come true, at least not always in the way you wish them to.

Sometimes, you need to look at something a little different, a new perspective and in another light.  One of my favorite websites to look at to help me do just that is StoryPeople.  For some reason, their website isn't cooperating with me today.  They started doing animation recently....so, I thought I would share one of those.  Enjoy it.  Whne you have some time, GOOGLE Storypeople and check out their website.  I think you will like it.
